PRIVACY POLICY

Your sky inputs stay under your control.

Ecliptic Echo calculates its core astronomy on your device. It does not currently require an account, sell personal data, or use advertising trackers. Some features contact outside services only as described below.

LAST UPDATED · SEPTEMBER 6, 2026

1. Information you enter

To make a chart, you may enter a date, local civil time, and city or postal code. The selected place is resolved to a time zone, latitude, longitude, and elevation. Together, an exact date, time, and place can be identifying, so we treat chart inputs with care even though they are not used to verify your identity or age.

The Sun, Moon, planet, horizon, phase, and constellation calculations are performed locally in the App. Chart inputs are held for the active experience and are not placed in an Ecliptic Echo account or cloud chart database because neither is currently offered.

2. Online services used at your request

Use my location asks for your device’s location permission. Ecliptic Echo rounds the returned coordinates to two decimal places and keeps them only in the current session, separate from your birthplace. These coordinates are used for local sky calculations, not sent to our server by this control. Your device or browser may use its own location services. For a detected position, displayed times use your device’s time zone; a manually selected city uses the city’s time zone.

Place search · Open-Meteo

When you search for a place, the search text is sent to Open-Meteo's geocoding service so it can return matching places, coordinates, elevation, and an IANA time zone. Open-Meteo may also receive ordinary network information such as your IP address.

Open-Meteo states that free-API server logs may include IP addresses or geographic values for technical maintenance, security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting, and that those logs are deleted after 90 days. See its Terms and Privacy.

Optional minor-body lookup · NASA/JPL Horizons

If you choose to load optional minor-body positions, Ecliptic Echo sends the chart's resolved UTC instant, latitude, longitude, and elevation through its service to NASA/JPL Horizons. It does not include your name or email address in that request. NASA/JPL and the hosting provider may process normal service and security logs under their own policies.

These independent services are not controlled by Ecliptic Echo. Their availability, retention practices, and privacy terms may differ from ours.

3. Notes and other local data

Daily “noticed” markers and similar preferences are stored locally on your device using browser or app storage. To reopen your latest StarCard reading, the App also stores the chosen UTC deal minute under a compact key calculated from the chart instant, rounded coordinates, and local day; it does not store the raw chart record in that entry. You can read a new moment without a daily quota; doing so replaces that day’s saved minute. These values are not synced to us. They remain until you clear the App's stored data, clear the corresponding site data, or uninstall the App. Your operating system may also remove local data as part of its storage management.

4. Sharing

Share images are generated on your device. Ecliptic Echo uses the device share sheet and does not learn which destination you choose or whether you complete the share. Birth date and city are excluded unless you choose to include them; exact time and coordinates are not printed on the standard share image. Once you share or save an image, the recipient, destination service, or device storage controls that copy.

Please do not share another person's chart or identifying details without their permission.

5. Support requests

The support tool prepares a report on your device and opens your mail app. Nothing is sent until you choose Send. Your sending address, message, and attachments are then processed by your email provider, our email provider, and Ecliptic Echo support at support@netzakh.space.

A report may contain a random case ID, time of report, app version, report category, subject and description, calculation method, an optional private file link, and the names, types, and sizes of files you selected. It does not automatically include browser or device diagnostics. Exact chart inputs and calculated positions are excluded unless you separately opt in and review the report. If included, those details are linked to the email and support request you send. Your email provider ordinarily supplies the sending address when you choose Send.

Do not send passwords, payment information, identity documents, medical information, or another person's chart without permission.

6. Retention and deletion

  • Local notes and preferences remain on your device until you clear them or uninstall the App.
  • Ecliptic Echo does not currently maintain user accounts or a cloud chart library.
  • Support messages and attachments are kept only as long as reasonably needed to investigate, reply, protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Mail-provider backups may persist until their normal rotation.
  • Operational service providers may retain limited security logs according to their own schedules.

To request deletion of a support message, email support@netzakh.space with the case ID. We will delete information we control unless retention is legally or reasonably required for security. We cannot delete copies already shared by you or data controlled independently by your mail provider, Open-Meteo, NASA/JPL, or another destination.

7. Security and tracking

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information involved. No internet or email transmission is completely secure. Ecliptic Echo does not currently use cross-app advertising tracking or data brokers. If those practices change, we will update this policy and obtain any consent required by platform rules or law before the change applies.

8. Age and minors

Ecliptic Echo is designed for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. A chart date is a calculation input, not age verification. If you believe a minor sent information through support, contact support@netzakh.space so we can review and delete information we control where appropriate.

9. Purchases and subscriptions

Ecliptic Echo does not currently offer purchases or subscriptions and does not collect payment information. If paid features are introduced, their price and terms will be shown before purchase, payment will be handled through the applicable store, and this policy will be updated before additional data practices begin.

10. Astronomy and symbolic content

Astronomical positions, angles, phases, horizons, and IAU constellation assignments are calculations. Reflective prompts and astrology-inspired labels are symbolic, are not presented as causal science, and have not been scientifically validated as predictions of personality or life events. This distinction does not change what personal information is processed.

11. Changes and contact

We may revise this policy when the App or its data practices change. The updated date will appear above. Material changes will be presented in an appropriate notice. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to support@netzakh.space.
